MOVO Cold Store Case Study

The Client

Working on behalf of our client, a UK-based architect, our team were asked to design, supply and install a mobile pallet racking system within the new cold storage unit of one of the UK's leading fresh meat producers, who specialise in supplying high quality meat products for both the UK and international markets.

The Challenge

Having outgrown their existing storage space, the fresh meat producer was becoming heavily reliant on cold storage rentals which was becoming costly and inefficient.

Looking to improve efficiency, increase storage capacity and eliminate the costs involved in renting additional cold storage space, they decided it was time to invest in a new cold storage facility.

Our team were approached to design, supply and install a mobile pallet racking system for this new space which would help improve operational efficiency and provide greater flexibility for them when it came to producing, storing and distributing their products UK-wide and internationally.

The Solution

Working closely with our client and the fresh meat producer, we developed a new cold storage system using the Dexion MOVO mobile pallet racking system with Dexion P90+ adjustable pallet racking to create a high density storage solution which provides complete access to all of the 924 pallet locations in the installation.

These pallet racking systems were selected based on their operational safety at temperatures as low as -30°C and for their advanced space-saving capabilities - across both horizontal and vertical axes.

The Results

This was a complex installation project which involved working with multiple stakeholders. Our organisation was selected over alternative competitors because of our experience and track record in delivering and installing mobile pallet racking solutions within cold storage environments.

The Dexion MOVO system was selected over other possible solutions as the client was most impressed with the system's exceptional design and capabilities.

The new storage system was safely installed within the planned timescale and budget parameters, successfully achieving the project goals and objectives. The fresh meat producer is delighted with the end result, with the new cold storage system greatly improving operational efficiency in line with their current requirements, whilst allowing for future growth and expansion.
